SLUTEVER

i watched this totally fascinating short documentary called SLUTEVER, about male sex dolls. They are totally custom made by a company called Sinthetics and cost about $13000.

someone in the film remarked: people like putting masks on to dehumanize something and in this case it’s kind of rehumanizing a sex toy. It’s making it more human.

the sex toy won’t ever really be alive. isn’t being alive a part of being human? it has to be, especially considering the way we (inhumanely) desecrate holy burial grounds and our stances on abortion, saying that a fetus isn’t a full human until it can sustain life on its on outside of the womb.

if we are making the doll “more human,” then are we being gods? we want to be god so badly! my thoughts are that we can’t be rehumanizing the doll because 1) it never was human to re-anything, and b) we are bringing something to ‘life’ that we made with our hands. Being the creators of life on earth, with the power to give and take life  – you say, nicole – don’t we technically bring things to life on earth that we make with our bodies? sure we do, as humans. as Gods? no, because our pregnancies/births have unexplained elements. elements that fuel the abortion debate, actually – at what point is the person, the soul formed? at what point does the spirit enter the baby? gods would know that.
